All Decodeur fire rated doors are fitted with our patented Fitec intumescent seal system. Fitec is a unique substitute material for hardwood framework, resulting in a significantly more environmentally friendly door. It is composite sheet material developed in-house for use in fire resistant doors. Fitec consists of various layers of fire resistant and moisture proof material with a patented dehydrated expansion compound applied between the layers. This compound links the different layers and in the event of fire rapidly expands under pressure to provide an effective seal between the door and frame.

Traditionally intumescent seals are added externally to doors or frames to seal the gap in the event of a fire. External seals are exposed to UV damage, tampering and safety issues over time, Fitec cannot be affected by these issues and will work for the life time of the door while it is in its original state. All Decodeur fire rated doors with Fitec are 3rd party certified to UK regulations.
